Short version: we don't ask for your name, email, or anything else about you. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no ads, and no tracking. Here's the full picture.
Who runs this site
SASA (the South Asian Student Association) is a student-led club at Eastview High School in Apple Valley, Minnesota. This website is run by students in the club. It is not an official website of Eastview High School or Independent School District 196, and nothing here speaks for the school or the district.
What we collect
We don't collect personal information. You can use every page on this site without telling us who you are.
There are no forms, no accounts, no comments, and no newsletter. The quiz runs in your browser, and your answers are never sent to us or saved anywhere. If you share your result, the link only says which festival you got.
What our web host sees
This site is hosted by Vercel. Like every website host, Vercel's servers receive basic technical information when your browser loads a page, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you asked for. Vercel uses this to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use it to figure out who you are, and we don't sell it or share it with anyone. The Diwali lamp counter
On the Diwali page you can light lamps. If the shared counter is turned on, lighting a lamp adds one to a single total number that everyone sees. That total is the only thing we keep. To stop people from spamming the counter, your IP address is checked for about one minute and then thrown away. It is never connected to your name or anything else.
Links to other sites
Some links go to other websites, like our Instagram page, Google Calendar, and the sources we used for festival facts. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we don't control what they collect. Check their policies before you use them.
Students and kids under 13
This site is made for high school students, families, and teachers. Because we don't collect personal information from anyone, we don't collect it from children under 13 either. If you think a child has somehow sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add something that collects information, like a sign-up form, we'll update this page first and change the date at the top.
